inCARnation - Apocalypse Mobile/Time Machine
inCARnation, the Apocalypse Mobile/Time Machine was sent in by Meg (Hint, the one with the pink hair). It was built over the course of a few years at her apartment in Minneapolis and is under constant construction. The frame is an early 1990s Honda Accord that belonged to Adam. Adam Lutterman (Atom), Andy Rennert (MN Phatts) and Meg (Dee Zaster) all contributed to its creation. They take it to Burning Man every year and it made its debut this year at the Houston Art Car Parade and promise to be back, I guess that's the time machine aspect of the inCARnation. They also participate in Art Car events in the Twin Cities on a regular basis. They are beginning work on radically altering the appearance, but the plans are under wraps. It will be bigger and badder the next time around, so keep a look out!

Bikes with Shoes
|
|

Bikes with shoes instead of tires is definitely a better alternative to using bike tires which need air and tend to go flat. All you need is a bunch of shoes and you are good to go, oh and a helmet would be good as well.

Artist Jay Nelson is the creator of this small electric camper pod encased in a fiberglass shell, complete with a water tank, stove, cabinets, fold-down table and convertible bed. His love for surfing goes further with this modified Honda Spree that serves as a tiny expedition vehicle. Outfitted with surfboard rack, roll-out canopy, and plenty of storage, Jay imagines filling it with gourmet provisions and heading to a remote beach for some exploration and relaxation.

|
|
|---|
Smitty's percolating coffee psycho is bike ride that's all about the coffee. There is plenty of space for the coffee pot, the mugs and off course the coffee grinds. You never have to go looking for a coffee shop, because the bike is brewing all the time, now I want coffee, only 12 hours until my next cup.
VW Wild Boar Fuel Saving Modification
|
|
|---|

VW has announced that it will begin fuel savings modifications on all VW Golfs using wild boar dummies. Any one interested in this fuel savings upgrade can get it at no cost. Once the car is hits a wild board crossing the street the need for gas will go down to zero, since the car will be totaled, think of the savings. VW is also thinking about sharing this fuel savings technology with other car manufactures.

Gator Bike covered in Alligator skin to the rescue
|
|
|---|

Jim Jablon didn't want his alligator skin to go to waste so he covered his motorcycle and making it the fastest road kill on record. It was given away in a charity fundraiser for an animal rehab center that has rescued dozens of exotic pets, including this albino Burmese python named Arctic.
The skin is detachable but the head is fixed perm-anently into the handlebars and has the speedometer implanted into the back of the skull.
Hand-carved skateboards by Doug McKee

Octopus Skateboard
Stingray Skateboard
Crocodile Skateboard
Raven Skateboard
I just found these amazing skateboards by artist Doug McKee of Bellingham, WA who carves skateboards that look like birds, insects, and sea creatures. here is what he had to say:
The process of carving a skateboard takes a bit of time. The piece is carved out of green wood. Which is to say wet, freshly cut wood. Ideally the wood spits its water at you as you carve. I use western red cedar because it is ideal in so many ways. Its light, strong and becomes harder as it ages. It splits easily facilitating carving--but also renders the piece fragile. First it is carved green and carefully hollowed out, then put away to dry. It shrinks radially along the growth rings as it dries. Some material must be left to "true up" or eliminate the distortions caused during drying. When it is dry enough it is finish carved. via Makezine
Easy A Team Art Car Project
|
|
|---|
The new A Team movie is coming out in June and with it will follow another wave of home made A Team vans. What's great about this particular art car project is that its easy to make and all you need is a black vehicle to start with. The only painting you have to do is the red stripe down the side and all you have to worry about is getting the angle right at the elbow, easy peasy.

Here is the original A Team intro video to get you psyched
7 ways to save big with half a car in 2010
|
|
|---|
2010 might turn out to be another financially difficult year so I came up with seven ways to save on you car bill in 2010. By getting half a car this year you will be saving a ton of money and doing your part in the fight against global warming. You will also enjoy other benefits that you might never have though of before like more ventilation, access to carpool lanes and the ability to plow a corn field. It will difficult at first to drive with only two front wheels but over time this too will become a problem of the past. To start things off here is a great video of a half car expert demonstrating its capabilities, in case you still have doubts.
Here are 7 ways to save big with half a car in 2010
1) Half car saves on drive through costs by cooking in your car
2) Half car saves a ton on see's candies and flowers after the divorce papers go through
3) Half car saves on moving costs with plenty of trunk space
4) Half car saves on the price of a full size car
5) Half car saves on gas with smaller a engine
6) Half car saves on speeding tickets
7) Half car gets more horse power with reduced emissions
Here is more half car videos just in case you cant get enough!!!
